THE READING RAINBOW
EL ARCOIRIS DE
LECTURA
This is a FUN way to motivate our students to read Spanish books not only in Spanish class but also at home.
Each student must read one Spanish
book per month. It does not have to be a chapter book. Keep the book simple and
fun! After reading the book, each student must complete the book report form
found below according to their grade level. We will give the first book report
form during Spanish class the first week in September.
For the following months, students are responsible for their own book
report form. The book reports are
due the last week of every month.
Due dates:
Grades –
4th & 5th - the last Wednesday of every month starting in September.
3rd – Mrs. Fisher and Mrs. Salazar- the last Tuesday of every month starting in September
3rd – Mrs. Suarez, Mrs. Wheeler & Mrs. Rodriguez- last Thursday of every month starting in September
2nd- Mrs. Coscia and Mrs. Santeiro- the last Tuesday of every month starting in September
2nd- Mrs. Baixauli and Mrs. Jimenez- the last Thursday of every month starting in September
The READING RAINBOW
is used to encourage students to read more than one book per
month. Each time they read a simple book in Spanish they add a RAINDROP to our
reading RAINBOW. The grade level with the most RAINDROPS at the end of each
grading period will receive a SPECIAL prize.
You can help by encouraging your children to check
out Spanish books from the Leewood Media Center!
All Spanish books are identified with a pink dot on the spine.
