Fifth Grade Goes to Boston
April 30 - May 2, 2008

WEDNESDAY  10:10 The plane has landed! Mrs. Fields reports that the trip could not have gone more smoothly. The children behaved beautifully. The bus is about to leave for a tour of "Bean-town!" Pictures will be uploaded as soon as possible. Check back often for updates!
THURSDAY   2:20 The children are having a GREAT time. They started the day off with a good breakfast, then drove to Plimouth Plantation where they toured the Mayflower II. You'll be glad to know that they got some shopping in this morning! They enjoyed meeting people in character from the early days, learned much and asked some very good questions. The compliments have been flowing about how well-behaved and intelligent they are. Leewood students always make us proud.

They are currently on their way to Cambridge, where they will tour the campus of Harvard. Tonight they're looking forward to the Ghost tour which is sure to keep them entertained. We'll keep you posted!

By the way, they had to leave the Hard Rock earlier than planned last night because they were getting ready for a concert with Jewel!

FRIDAY   10:25 The children had a good breakfast, have checked out of the hotel and are "bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, and ready for adventure" this morning, according to Mrs. Fields. They're making their way to Salem for the Witch Museum and the House of Seven Gables, after which they'll enjoy a "scrumptious" lunch then on to the Museum of Science.

They really enjoyed their tour of Harvard yesterday. Start saving your money 'cause it appears that some of your children  are eager to attend Harvard when the time for college comes!

The kids were a little disappointed by the Ghost Tour.... not spooky enough, apparently, but the chaperones were relieved!

We hope you  have enjoyed hearing from your children. They're looking forward to seeing you very early tomorrow morning. Be sure to listen for the phone tree call about their arrival. PLEASE leave space in front of the school for the buses so that they can deliver your children safely to the curb.

Check back here often today, since Mrs. Field's will try to call in a few more times.....
